To successfully complete the Rebovich Fellowship Program and be named a Rebovich Institute Fellow, a student will participate in the following components of engaged learning:

  • Perform a political internship.
  • Identify a needed improvement in his or her community, develop proposed solutions, communicate with public officials about it, develop proposed solutions and achieve a favorable result. 
  • Attend a series of public meetings that could include a state legislative committee, a full legislative session, a municipal meeting, a school board meeting, a county meeting, a government authority meeting (such as BPU, Turnpike, Port Authority, Bridge Commission), and a grassroots meeting.  Follow-up components might include a letter to the editor about some aspect of the meeting, comments delivered during the public portion of the meeting, or research into an item discussed at the meeting.
  • Active participation in the Institute鈥檚 programming.
