Specialty dining events take home Gold and Silver
Rider Dining has been recognized by the National Association of College & University Food Services (NACUFS) as part of the Loyal E. Horton Dining Awards for 2025. The team won two awards 鈥 a Gold Award for Residential Dining Event of the Year and a Silver Award for Special Catering Event of the Year.
鈥淲e are constantly looking for innovative ways to engage our students on campus to ensure they have the best experience possible,鈥 says Jena Cantwell, director of community relations & campus strategic planning, Gourmet Dining Services. 鈥淭hese events are designed not only to improve their dining experience but to give students memories that they can take with them long after they graduate.鈥
The Gold Award for Residential Dining Event of the Year was awarded for Bronchella. Inspired by a love for music festival culture among students, the team created a high-energy dining event with a menu designed to reflect the elevated feel of a festival food truck experience. Complete with themed decorations and music provided by 107.7
The Bronc, Bronchella brought the music festival experience into the Daly Dining Hall.
Rider鈥檚 Sweater Weather Social, hosted during Alumni and Family Day, won the Silver Award for Special Catering Event of the Year. This event, which included campus favorites NOSH Empanadas/Under the Moon, Rollin' on the Rocks and Jersey Jack Kettle Corn, brought the larger Rider community together.
The Loyal E. Horton Dining Awards celebrate exemplary menus, presentations, special event planning and new dining concepts. They are the ultimate professional tribute in college and university culinary arts.
